Actually taken from a 1979 recording of the song which was originally recorded at the 10.12.76 session. This was released under the name 'Everyone Else'. It's slightly more new wave -ish and not the heavy rock style of the original. This was featured on BBC Radio Leeds in 1979.
lyrics
Brainwashed
Sometimes I dream about life outside this hell
Sometimes I dream about life outside this cell.
My mind is under a spell
Just what’s going on I can’t tell
My mind is under a spell.
Sometimes when these four walls are all that I can see
That’s when I wonder what it must be like to be free
My mind’s in chains
Don’t even know my own name
My mind’s in chains
I’ve been Brainwashed, Brainwashed, Brainwashed
Don’t know how long I’ve been locked away
Don’t know anymore if it’s night or day.
I told them everything and I betrayed all my friends
Now I’m sitting around just waiting for the end
I’m going insane
My mind’s been drained
I’m going insane
I’ve been Brainwashed, Brainwashed, Brainwashed
